I totally understand this feeling. I'm glad that for me the good outweighed the bad, but I'm sorry you didn't feel the same way. The Thor stuff really was awful, just by far an away the thing that upset me the most. And Tony's death just keeps hitting me in little bits and pieces. I'm not sure I'll really register how sad it is until FFH.
why didn't Nebula tell them about two going to that planet and only one coming back? FWIW, my headcanon for this is that she may have mentioned about Gamora dying, but didn't know why -- I don't think anyone actually knew about the Soul Stone trade, so it would have been easy to assume Thanos just killed Gamora for whatever weird reasons he had.
I totally understand why people don't like Steve's arc. It didn't bother me, but I really think that's just because my investment in him was so, so low, because all the critiques make sense to me intellectually.
But I'm looking forward to whatever fics you'll come up with for Peter and Tony :D My biggest fear about this movie is that it would lose people from the ship because of The Death (despite, as I said, plenty of shipping fodder otherwise), so this is great to hear! For IRL reasons I have to take a break from writing for a few weeks, but after that I have so, so many ideas, some fix-its and Endgame AUs, some just AUing the heck out of everything and basically continuing to play in the post-IW "IDK, snap got unsnapped somehow, now we're a bit in the future" world I've been playing in.
